There are 3 classifications of RO (Reverse Osmosis) machines, namely:
1. RO machine for fresh water / wells or Tap Water Reverse Osmosis (TWRO)
2. Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis (BWRO) Brackish Water RO Machine
3. Salt water machine / Sea or Sea Water Reverse Osmosis (SWRO)
The main difference from the three RO machine classifications lies in the use of membranes, pressurized pumps, and electrical power consumption. From the physical side (with the same capacity) the freshwater RO machine and the brackish water RO machine have no difference, the difference is only in the membrane filter power.
In freshwater RO membranes, membranes can survive until the inlet TDS reaches 1,000ppm, whereas in brackish water RO, the membrane can last until the raw water TDS reaches 5,000ppm
